“Consulting to one company is very different than what it is to another. Especially when it comes to security consulting and helping small businesses run a secure and effecient e-commerce platform.
One of the things that I’ve found myself repeating as being a deficiency of SMBs is a complete inability to tackle the concept of risk. There are a lot of business owners that would like to think that they are benefiting by avoiding all risks at all costs. The sad part is that they don’t grow, and many of their businesses go under because they didn’t take the right risks while overlooking the passive risks that once loomed in the shadows. Basically, if you understand cost vs. risk and consequence vs. benefit and how they apply to your business, you will grow your business. If you aren’t taking risks, then you aren’t running a business.
Why not eliminate the passive risks? Why does security get overlooked? The answer is simple: security is not something that adds obvious value. Most of the revernue generated in the realm of Information Security is created from reactive response to disasters, rather than proactive approaches to prevent them. I’m not saying that these SMBs owners aren’t being proactive enough in the growth of their own companies, but as I have seen InfoSec get overlooked a lot on various priority lists—it’s mostly an ignorance thing. They just don’t know that the risk is there or its respective severity until it’s too late.
InfoSec consulting is all about mitigating risks in a cost effective way. So why is it so expensive? It doesn’t have to be. That is where we come in. Our aim is to help Small to Medium Businesses grow in a more secure environment, on a tighter budget. We focus on the secure growth of the Small-to-Medium Business.”
